Christmas Dates for Your Diary

posted 1 Dec 2014, 03:35 by Pete Jennings
There are plenty of opportunities to celebrate this Christmas. Starting with...

Community Choir Concert -  Saturday 6th December, 7pm
The Wellstead Choir are presenting a Christmas concert with plenty of opportunities for you to sing some carols and the highlight, I’m sure, will be the debut of our new community children’s choir, Upbeat.

Nativity Live -  Saturday 13th December, 10am-1pm
This is a really exciting new venture, presented by the Messy Church team.  People are invited to journey through the Christmas story, to knock on the innkeeper’s door, bow to King Herod, sing with the angels, visit the stable, and help the Wise Men. We have live animals joining us too… it should be a fabulous!

Carolling - Sunday 21st December, 1pm and 5pm
It has become tradition that the brass group play carols around the estate with a team of doorknockers who are there to give away chocolate and remind people about the carol service and the Christmas Eve event.

Community Carol Service – Sunday 21st December, 5pm
The carol service was well attended last year and beautiful with all the Christingles lighting the room… this year will be even better because people will be able to hear this time!

Christmas Eve – Wednesday 24th, 5.30pm
Wrap up warm, bring your torch and join us for carols in the car park. Last year around 300 people joined us for this and it has become a tradition for many families on the estate. The brass group and community choir will be adding to the occasion and the elves have informed me that Santa will be joining us again, arriving in style, as always! Add to this turkey rolls, hot chocolate and chestnuts, it’s the perfect way to kick off the celebrations.

Christmas Day Dinner
Following the 10am Christmas Day service there will be a meal and entertainment laid on for people who would otherwise be on their own at Christmas. For more details please call 01489 796491. If you know anyone who needs a bit of company this Christmas, please let us know.
